HISTORY OF THE CLUB

It was Jovan Žerjal who brought Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to Serbia when he came from France back in 2000. He is also a founder of BJJ Association of Serbia which is a full-time member of IBJJF (International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation).

In 2002, under his patronage, brothers Bojan and Damir Mihajlović, opened their own club in Novi Sad. After numerous seminars and constant travels to Belgrade, through hard work Bojan and Dado built a strong club with ever-growing number of students.
At some early tournaments that they attended, FFT members already achieved noticeable results and even today the team have a tendency to continue winning.

In summer 2006, Bojan and Dado travelled to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil – the home of BJJ, Grappling and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA).

They trained in one of the clubs with the longest tradition in BJJ – Carlson Gracie Academy…

.....and in one of the best Luta Livre clubs - Renovecao Fight Team (RFT)…

..... with some of the best fighters of our time (Pequeno, Azevedo…) .

They advanced a lot and passed their knowledge on to their students in Serbia.

In 2006, they also participated in the world jiu-jitsu championship.

Their second trip to the home of Brazilian Jiu - Jitsu and NHB fights - Brazil, gave them a chance to improve their knowledge through trainings in famous De la Riva Academy and constant work with some of the biggest names in the world of NHB and ground fighting, Daniel D'Dane and Alexandre Pequeno.

They also brought home knowledge of Luta Livre and thus became the first and only official representatives of this martial art in Serbia.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, due to the success of Jiu-Jitsu fighters in NHB(MMA) competition, has been exported around the world.

Bojan and Dado have fired up the interests of Serbs and especially martial artists in Serbia.

They helped to popularize both the sport and FFT in our country through their successful fights in MMA rings/octagons in Serbia and abroad.
